May I introduce myself? I'm pretty sure you'll like me. My name is Paolo and I'm the little white boy with brown spots on my head and a pink freckled nose. Yes, those funny freckles really belong to me and no, they don't wash off even when I'm bathed. My life began unfortunately not very well. My siblings and I were simply left alone on a field. Without a mother. Without protection. Back then, I didn't know why no one came back. I was hungry, scared, and snuggled up close to the others. Today, I live in the shelter and discover a little bit more of this crazy world every day. I find everything exciting. Shoes. Water spouts. Brooms. Shoelaces. Sometimes I'm still startled by loud noises, but my curiosity usually wins out pretty quickly. The people here take care of us with love. But there are so many dogs that cuddle time is often too short. That's why I always try to look extra sweet. It works surprisingly well with my freckled nose. I wish for a home where I can belong. People who laugh with me, learn with me, and show me that I never have to be afraid of being left alone again. And I promise: I will win your heart in a storm. Probably within five minutes. Meine Geschwister und ich wurden einfach allein zurückgelassen. Auf einem Feld. Ohne Mama. Ohne Schutz. Ich wusste damals gar nicht, warum niemand zurückkommt.
