adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Parker has found a home! His story: What a sweet bear bunch! Parker, Pfötchen, Barnaby, Olf, and Franjo were found without a mother on the street. Of course, our helpers on site couldn't look away and took the quintet in. They could be housed in our private animal shelter in Fantanele. Unfortunately, they live in outdoor enclosures and anything but in an appropriate environment. Therefore, we hope very much that the bunch will soon find a home! Foster placements are of course also possible. Our Parker is the smallest from the litter and still a bit shy. But she gratefully accepts the proximity of humans, calms down quickly, and is just waiting to be stroked and kissed. Parker is currently around 3 months old and we assume she will grow to be small to medium-sized. Parker has a shortened tail from birth, which doesn't impair her but unfortunately prevents her from entering Switzerland. Parker must still learn to live in a home – something that has been denied her so far. She is therefore looking for people who are willing to learn the dog ABC with her. Soon, Parker will hit puberty, in which she will test her owners and her limits. She is looking for someone who can stand by her during this hormone chaos and provide her with the necessary understanding and support to grow into a great dog. Positive training and loving consequences will help her get through this time well and emerge as a strong team. Because Parker would never deliberately annoy you. She can often be at a loss for her behavior during this tumultuous time and hopes that you will always stand behind her during this difficult time. Our Parker is microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated. She brings her EU pet passport with her and can travel after a positive match. Are you in love with the sweet mouse? Many thanks for taking on the name sponsorship, dear Lisa K.! Date: 27.05.

Stand: 27.05.2024

About Parker

What life with Parker looks like

Parker is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Parker, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Parker?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Parker on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Parker if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Parker already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Parker isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Parker and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
