Pascal

Whippet · Male · Young · 1 year

Pascal is looking for a home with loving and active adopters who can take him on sniffy adventures, who will take the time to help him settle in and give him all the love and attention he deserves. He is a sweet boy who can live with older primary school children who will understand when he is feeling a little uncomfortable and will give him space to rest when needed. Pascal is super friendly and could live with another playful dog pending successful meets at the centre, although living with another dog is not a necessity, he would be happy with friendly and playful walking buddies. Pascal is a young but clever boy who could engage in training in short, sweet sessions as long as a tasty treat is on offer. Pascal can get worried being left so is looking for someone to be home the majority of the time especially to begin with, any leaving time would need to be built up slowly once he has had time to settle into his new home. Pascal will need to meet his adopters a few times prior to going home so please bear all of this in mind when applying. Meet Pascal, the 1 and a half year old Whippet who is chock full of character and beans. He likes to run after toys, but would prefer to engage with his favourite 2-and-4-legged friends, he will playbow and prance about like a little pony. He enjoys a gentle fuss and will sometimes wander over for some reassurance and a neck scratch; he will put his paws on your leg for more and will wander off when he is done. This cute little guy is ready to find his new family, could it be you?

About Pascal

What life with Pascal looks like

Pascal is a young adult whippet dog waiting at Dogs Trust Canterbury in Chestfield.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Pascal, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Pascal?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dogs Trust Canterbury handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Pascal on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Pascal if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dogs Trust Canterbury will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Pascal already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Pascal isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dogs Trust Canterbury early rather than rehoming privately; they know Pascal and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
