Pascha (male/female, born circa 6/2020) Hello everyone out there. My name is Pascha. Do you recognize me? Well, what can I say. I'm back! Unfortunately. The first time I had to move out because of a new human child and a too small apartment and came to the animal shelter. Then I found a nice home and have lost it again. My owner is very, very sick, so I'm without personal care again. I'm a cuddly apartment cat who doesn't tolerate other cats, if you understand what I mean 😉 If you have an apartment with a worn-out balcony, you're welcome to apply for me. I love to observe the world outside 🤗 As you can see from my pictures, I belong to the Scottish Fold breed or in other words: a cruel breeding practice!!!! There are some things to consider and know when keeping us, and I don't want to hide that: "... The gene ultimately responsible for the folded ears also affects other cartilage and bone structures. Therefore, Scottish Fold cats have an increased susceptibility to osteochondrodysplasia (OCD). Possible signs of this disease are, for example, touch pain, arthrosis, lameness and thickened joints. These symptoms often have to be treated with painkillers for life..." A quieter living environment suits their needs, because noise and haste don't suit them. Too high scratching trees, for example, are not something for me in the long run and you have to count on possibly recurring veterinary visits and costs. It doesn't have to be, but it can. Who knows what the future brings?! I see my future as positive. Maybe you know something about my "breed" and have come to love us because of our lovely nature. I have a lot of love to give. Do you want my love?

Pascha (m/k, geb. ca. 6/2020) Ein Hallo an alle da draußen. Mein Name ist Pascha. Ihr erkennt mich wieder? Tja, was soll ich sagen. I'm back! Leider. Wer weiß schon, was die Zukunft bringt?!

About Pascha

What life with Pascha looks like

Pascha is a small adult mixed breed cat waiting at Tierschutzverein Hattersheim und Umgebung e.V. in Hattersheim am Main.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Pascha, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Pascha?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Hattersheim und Umgebung e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Pascha on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Pascha if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Hattersheim und Umgebung e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Pascha already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Pascha isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Hattersheim und Umgebung e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Pascha and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
