Patrick

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 6 years

Patrick - a wonderful Husky-Mix is searching for his forever home❤️This beautiful, tri-colored male dog was born in 2020 and brings not only size but also a lot of heart and character with his 34.5 kg weight and 65 cm shoulder height. Currently, he lives in 51503 Rösrath. He is a friendly and open companion who enjoys the company of his people. He shows affection, sensitivity, playfulness, and cuddle sessions are definitely part of his perfect day. He also loves treats (and responds wonderfully to them as motivation). In everyday life, he is a pleasant roommate: he is house-trained, knows how to ride in a car, wears a muzzle without any problems, and also gets along well with typical civilization noises. Additionally, he can be left alone when necessary. Outdoors, he is a quiet, attentive companion who especially loves rural, relaxed walks. He shows no prey drive. His absolute favorite activity, however, is clearly spending time in the garden. There, he is vigilant but always approachable when his person is present. He wishes for fair, respectful treatment and sometimes shows his own mind, but he is also easy to interact with and likes to work together with his person. He especially enjoys treat-hunting games where he can use his nose. He is generally compatible with other dogs, but sometimes the relationship depends on the individual. With clear body language and calm guidance, he can be led past other dogs without any problems. We wish him a home with people who appreciate his sensitive nature, give him security, and offer him a quiet environment, preferably with a garden. For those searching for a loyal, affectionate companion who likes to be close to their people and immediately touches the heart with his gentle nature, they will find a very special friend in him. He is neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated and can only be contacted by email or phone at this number:

About Patrick

What life with Patrick looks like

Patrick is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierheim Wuppertal in Wuppertal.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Patrick, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Patrick?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Wuppertal handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Patrick on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Patrick if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Wuppertal will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Patrick already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Patrick isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Wuppertal early rather than rehoming privately; they know Patrick and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
