Patroclo

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy

Patroclo - a playful, affectionate male dog is looking for his forever home. Patroclo was born in January 2026 and currently lives with his siblings at the LIDA rescue center in Sardinia. He is a friendly and lively puppy with a beautiful light brown, slightly longer and especially soft coat. Patroclo also resembles a Setter with his slender, high-legged figure. The approximately 55 cm tall and 20 kg heavy dog is very people-oriented and approaches people openly and unprejudiced. He is extremely affectionate, enjoys petting and likes to be close to his caregivers. With his playful and cheerful nature, Patroclo will surely bring a lot of joy to his future family. Age-appropriately, he is curious, playful and full of energy. Patroclo likes to run and wants to discover the world together with his humans. At the same time, he is a very affectionate dog who wants to enjoy the closeness and quiet with his family after joint activities. We hope that Patroclo will soon be able to travel to a foster home in the Rhine-Main area in Germany. We wish him a loving home where he can learn everything that is important with patience, security and empathy and develop into a loyal, loving companion. If you live in the Rhine-Main area, you can also take Patroclo in as a foster dog. More dogs are looking for a home... Oscar is friendly and open to people and other dogs. Mia San wants a quiet bed for herself. Milly has been waiting for her people for so long. Maya wants her own home.

Er ist ein freundlicher und aufgeweckter Junghund mit einem wunderschönen hellbraunen, etwas längeren und besonders weichen Fell. Auch Patroclo erinnert mit seiner schlanken, hochbeinigen Figur ein wenig an einen Setter. Der etwa 55 cm große und rund 20 kg schwere Rüde ist sehr menschenbezogen und begegnet Menschen offen und unvoreingenommen. Er ist äußerst zutraulich, genießt Streicheleinheiten und sucht gerne die Nähe seiner Bezugspersonen. Mit seiner verspielten und fröhlichen Art bringt Patroclo sicher viel Freude in seine zukünftige Familie. Altersgemäß ist er neugierig, verspielt und voller Tatendrang. Patroclo läuft gerne und möchte gemeinsam mit seinen Menschen aktiv sein und die Welt entdecken. Gleichzeitig ist er ein sehr verschmuster Hund, der nach gemeinsamen Unternehmungen die Nähe und Ruhe bei seiner Familie genießen möchte. Wir hoffen, dass Patroclo bald nach Deutschland auf eine Pflegestelle im Rhein-Main-Gebiet reisen darf. Für ihn wünschen wir uns ein liebevolles Zuhause, in dem er mit Geduld, Sicherheit und Einfühlungsvermögen alles Wichtige lernen und sich zu einem treuen, liebevollen Begleiter entwickeln darf. Wenn Sie im Rhein-Main Gebiet wohnen, können Sie Patroclo auch erst als Pflegehund bei sich aufnehmen. Noch mehr Hunde suchen ein Zuhause... Oscar ist nicht nur Menschen, sondern auch anderen Hunden gegenüber freundlich und aufgeschlossen. Milly wartet schon so lange auf ihre Menschen. Maya möchte endlich ihr eigenes Zuhause haben. Mia San möchte endlich ein ruhiges Körbchen für sich. jQuery(document).ready(function($) { $('-studios-carousel-elementor-91a277c').owlCarousel({ itemClass: "tailwag-carousel-item", onTranslated: tailwagDisplayPrevNav91a277c, // breakpoint from 0 up // breakpoint from 768 up // breakpoint from 1025 up function tailwagDisplayPrevNav91a277c(){ $("-studios-carousel-elementor-91a277c").addClass("tailwag-carousel-left-arrow-on"); }

About Patroclo

What life with Patroclo looks like

Patroclo is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein Hunde in Not Rhein-Main e.V. in Bad Vilbel.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Patroclo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Patroclo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Hunde in Not Rhein-Main e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Patroclo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Patroclo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Hunde in Not Rhein-Main e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Patroclo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Patroclo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Hunde in Not Rhein-Main e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Patroclo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
