Patsy

Border Collie · Female · Adult · 4 years

PATSY WOULD LIKE A HOME WITH HER FRIEND, PIP. 01-07-26 Patsy is a sweet but timid lady who has come into our care from a breeder in search of a fresh start. She arrived alongside her mum and close companion, Pip, and the pair are absolutely adorable and really rely on each other for comfort. Patsy is a gentle little girl who is still finding her feet. She enjoys a fuss once you reach her, but she can be unsure when approached and may scurry away while she builds her confidence. She needs people who are happy to take things slowly and allow her to settle at her own pace. Despite her worries, she is easy to handle and can be picked up without any fuss, showing the kind and trusting nature she has beneath her shyness. Patsy and Pip are a lovely pair who are very bonded and will need to find a home together. They complement each other beautifully, with Pip helping Patsy feel more secure while Patsy brings her own gentle nature to their relationship. They enjoy each other’s company and provide one another with comfort and reassurance as they navigate new experiences. They could live happily as a pair without any other dogs in the home, or they could share their home with other friendly dogs who are respectful and kind. As Patsy has never lived in a home before, she will need to learn all about house training and the other basics of home life. Her new family will need to be patient, understanding, and willing to let her progress at her own pace as she discovers all the comforts of being a much-loved pet. Patsy can already walk on a lead, so once she has settled into her new home, she would enjoy gentle walks around the local area with Pip by her side, helping her confidence continue to grow. Patsy could share her home with older, dog-savvy teenagers aged 16 and over who can appreciate and understand that she will need a gentle, quiet introduction to the home and her own space to settle in. Patsy is a lovely little girl with a gentle heart who simply needs someone to believe in her. With time, kindness, and the support of her wonderful mum Pip, we are sure she will continue to blossom into a happy and affectionate companion. This dog can be homed with a resident dog.

About Patsy

What life with Patsy looks like

Patsy is a adult border collie dog waiting at Many Tears Animal Rescue in Llanelli.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Patsy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Patsy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Many Tears Animal Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Patsy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Patsy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Many Tears Animal Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Patsy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Patsy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Many Tears Animal Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Patsy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
