adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Paul has earned his ticket to happiness! His story: Paul – An active and balanced dog treasure searches for his people! With Paul, we don't even know where to start. Should we describe how handsome he is, or rather report on what a great character he has? It's quite obvious that Paul is a true sight for sore eyes. So let's get to his wonderful nature. Paul is a friendly, curious, and playful good mood dog. He is naturally active, but not overexcited, and very balanced. He gets as excited about cuddles as he does about treats. The eager young pup also walks well on a leash. Paul is currently 8 months old and measures approximately 45 cm at a current weight of 14 kg. He is expected to grow to a medium size. He gets along well with his fellow animals and likes to play with them. We can say little about his past. We rescued him from the public animal shelter in Zalau. But more important than what lies behind him is what lies ahead, and that hopefully is a rosy future full of adventures and beautiful moments. After the clumsy puppy phase comes puberty. In this phase, he will test his owners and his limits. He is looking for someone who can stand by him during this hormone chaos and provide the necessary understanding and support so that he can grow into a great dog. Positive reinforcement dog training and loving consequences will help him get through this time well and emerge as a strong team. For Paul would never do something consciously to annoy you. He often can't control his behavior during this tumultuous time and hopes that you will always stand behind him during this difficult time. Living children in the household should be old enough to understand the new companion and not misunderstand him. It would be the right time now to find new friends in dog training classes and finally be allowed to "learn" – maybe with you? He is eager to learn the dog ABC and form new friendships. For Paul, we are looking for people who are eager to experience something with him and be active, as well as want to mentally challenge him. He travels neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and treated for fleas, and brings his own EU pet passport. For an adoption fee of 500 Euros, he can move in. He would also be very happy with a foster placement. Do you now also have the urge to start right away and experience adventures with Paul in nature? Many thanks to Anja S.! You named Paul. Date: 26.02.

Vielen Dank Anja S.! Du hast Paul seinen Namen geschenkt. Stand: 26.02.2025

About Paul

What life with Paul looks like

Paul is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Paul, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Paul?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Paul on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Paul if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Paul already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Paul isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Paul and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
