Adopt Paula

adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Paula has found her people! Her story: Fantanele, Romania. When one looks into Paula's sweet, little face, one immediately feels happy. For she grins very shyly but mischievously, and one can guess that a wonderful and playful personality will soon come to light when the little Paula finally finds her people and is allowed to travel. Paula's story begins on the streets of Romania. Together with her siblings, Bounty and Speedy, she was found without a mother on the roadside, abandoned, and left to fend for herself. Simply discarded. Paula is now approximately 2.5 months old and weighs around 3 kilos. She is likely to be about the size of a Labrador, with a height of around 55cm. Paula is a charming puppy-dame with a chocolate and white coat and a distinct, light marking on her forehead, which gives her a unique charm. Her nature is typical of a puppy: playful, friendly, and very people-oriented. She loves to play, eat, sleep, and explore the world. With other dogs, Paula gets along well, and she is also friendly and open to people. Currently, she unfortunately shares a small pen with her siblings in the private shelter of Fantanele. To promote Paula's development, we recommend a visit to a good dog training class, where she can form important social connections and tap into her potential. Although we do not know which breeds are present in Paula and her siblings, it is possible that herding or guard dog genes are present, as these are common in Romania. In the first year of life, puppies should be as little alone as possible. Additionally, the more demanding pubertal phase is approaching. The hormone chaos turns the lives of these little rascals upside down. They "forget" much of what they have learned so far, and their ears are on full alert. Therefore, it is especially important during this phase to train consistently but lovingly. And there is also good news: This phase will pass! We are looking for loving people who can give Paula a home and shower her with the care, love, and attention she deserves. She will be a faithful companion who loves to experience new adventures. Paula can be microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas and travel. Many thanks to Anna W.! You have given Paula her beautiful name!

Vielen Dank Anna W.! Du hast Paula ihren schönen Namen geschenkt!

About Paula

What life with Paula looks like

Paula is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Paula, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Paula?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Paula on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Paula if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Paula already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Paula isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Paula and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
