adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Pauli has found his home! His story: Pauli comes from Romania, where he came from a kennel with siblings, waiting for his chance to travel to his foster home. He is a bit shy and seeks security with his foster mom. If something impresses him strongly, he waits, for example, until a car passes by before continuing. Since the first weeks, he has already adapted to a lot of new things. Cats don't interest him anymore. Outdoors, he walks calmly on a leash on familiar paths. He is smart, has understood the basic commands, and enjoys cuddling with his foster mom. Visits from children have pleased him. We wish Pauli a home in a rural, quiet environment in a family that desires a quiet and relaxed family member. Too much hustle and bustle is not for Pauli, but children, cats, and ideally a confident only dog would suit him. Pauli is still a rough diamond: house training, leash walking, and being left alone must be practiced together, but he has a learning spirit, openness, and attachment. A visit to a positively working dog training class could make him a class favorite. Puberty is also coming for Pauli, no doubt. And then, the gentle blonde will surely turn into a little rascal. But whoever accompanies him affectionately, sets clear and fair rules, and goes through the chaos phases with a smile, will be rewarded with an incredibly loyal, humorous, and smart dog. Pauli is microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas. His EU pet passport is ready, and he is waiting for a positive thank you from Jo-Anne – you gave Pauli his name! As of: 27.08.

Danke an Jo-Anne – du hast Pauli seinen Namen geschenkt! About Pauli

What life with Pauli looks like

Pauli is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Pauli, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Pauli?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Pauli on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Pauli if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Pauli already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Pauli isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Pauli and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
