Peabo

Male · Adult · 4 years

This poor boy breaks our hearts! Peabo is a very sweet boy who was rescued from Greece as a puppy. He was living happily in the UK for 3 years but sadly, due to a change in family circumstances and through no fault of his own, he is now looking for a new home and despite many enquiries we’ve yet to find that perfect calm home for him. Peabo is a well-mannered boy, understands all the basic commands and wants nothing more than fun walks and to spend time with you but he needs a calm space. He’s not a dog who craves an active social life he just wants to be at home with you enjoying a simple life. Peabo would love a quiet home without young children or cats with experienced owners who will help him find love again. If you would like to meet Peabo and see if he might be the dog for you please kindly contact Peabo spent some time in a foster home in the UK. His foster mum described him as a wonderful, well-trained, well-behaved boy. He’s affectionate, trusting and gives the best hugs. Peabo loves his walks and going for car rides. He gets on fine with other dogs but in the home prefers his own space, so we believe he is probably best suited as an only dog. I’m a very sweet, loving dog looking for a calm home without children.

About Peabo

What life with Peabo looks like

Peabo is a adult dog waiting at Starlight Barking Trust in United Kingdom.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Peabo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Peabo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Starlight Barking Trust handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Peabo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Peabo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Starlight Barking Trust will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Peabo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Peabo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Starlight Barking Trust early rather than rehoming privately; they know Peabo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
