adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Peanut has been locally adopted! Her story: Peanut is searching for a loving home to settle into This is Peanut, a beautiful, approximately two-year-old female dog who was rescued from the streets. Although we don't know her exact history, we do know: she is loving, friendly, and ready for a new life. At two years old, she has reached the best age – her stormy adolescence is behind her, and she is open to learning and settling in. Peanut is 43 cm tall, gets along well with fellow animals, and is very eager to learn. She also has no objection to snuggling on the couch with her human companions. Since she is still unfamiliar with life in a home, she is looking for patient people who can teach her the basics of being a dog. She will be very happy to be shown a positive and loving path, for example, in a dog training class that works with positive reinforcement. If you have the time, patience, and a heart for a female dog who needs to learn everything anew, then Peanut is exactly the right fit for you. She will thank you with unconditional love. She would be grateful for a foster home that serves as her first stepping stone in her new life. Peanut is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated. She has an EU pet passport and is only available after a great thank you to Pia B., who has taken on a monthly sponsorship for Peanut. As of 19.09.

Stand: 19.09.2025

About Peanut

What life with Peanut looks like

Peanut is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Peanut, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Peanut?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Peanut on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Peanut if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Peanut already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Peanut isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Peanut and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
