Pebbles

Female · Young · 1 year

Pebbles came into our care after falling out with her previous companion while recovering from her spay. This little madam is a beautiful girl who is finding the world a little scary now that she’s on her own. Pebbles is a real lover of the quiet life. She’ll happily spend her days relaxing in her houses, and if you sit quietly nearby with some of her favourite veggies, you may just be rewarded with a little peek from her hiding spot. She’s looking for a family who already has a guinea pig or two to help her build her confidence. We think having some guinea pig friends to follow will really help Pebbles feel safe and allow her lovely personality to shine through. She has such a gentle nature, and anyone willing to give her the time and patience she needs will get to see just how lovely she really is. A naturally social species, guinea pigs thrive in the company of others. They need companionship to feel safe and settled. They eat, sleep and explore together, so they should always live in pairs or groups. This could be a same-sex pair, three or more females, or a neutered male with one or more females.

About Pebbles

What life with Pebbles looks like

Pebbles is a small young adult animal waiting at Wood Green in London.

Every animal has their own temperament and history. The shelter knows Pebbles far better than any listing can convey — ask about daily routine, ideal household, and what kind of adopter they're hoping for.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Pebbles, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Pebbles?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Wood Green handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Pebbles on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Pebbles if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Wood Green will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Pebbles already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most animals on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Pebbles isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Wood Green early rather than rehoming privately; they know Pebbles and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
