This was already the third time, but apparently it is still not clear to the people involved that when animals are regularly taken away and you receive a ban, this means that you should no longer bring new animals into your home. The animals were neglected again and were in poor housing conditions, making the shelter a real upgrade for them. All animals have now been assigned to us and we hope, just like with the previous two groups that were removed, to find a nice new home for these lovebirds as well. Pedro is estimated at about 6 months old and is in the bloom of his life. He is an inquiring and active teenager. Beagles are known for their stubborn streaks, and so is Pedro. If he wants or doesn't want something, he tries with all his might to make sure he gets what he wants. His frustration can sometimes get a bit too high. His attention person is doing well with him to teach him how 'normal' dog life works and to bring some patience. This is already going in the right direction: he learns, develops and gets more and more patience and can also keep himself busy. He walks well on a leash and we are working on his potty training. Eating is living, so he is also trainable and we expect him to learn even more. He has come into contact with other dogs. This he likes and he plays nicely with them. However, he protects his toys from the other dogs, which needs to be managed carefully. We are looking for a home with a garden for Pedro at people who already have some dog experience and knowledge of canine learning principles. Kan op een appartement: nee, een huis met een tuin Kan met kinderen: ja, 14+ Op een voor ons bekend adres werd een controle uitgevoerd door de dierenpolitie, waarbij wederom meerdere honden en twee katten in beslag werden genomen. Dit was al de derde keer, maar blijkbaar is het voor de betrokken mensen nog steeds niet duidelijk dat wanneer er regelmatig dieren worden weggehaald en je een verbod krijgt, dit betekent dat je geen nieuwe dieren meer in huis moet en mag halen. De dieren werden opnieuw verwaarloosd en zaten in slechte huisvesting, waardoor het asiel voor hen een echte upgrade is. Alle dieren zijn inmiddels aan ons toegewezen en we hopen, net als bij de vorige twee groepen die werden weggehaald, ook voor deze lieverds een fijn nieuw thuis te vinden. Pedro wordt op ongeveer 6 maanden geschat en zit in de bloei van zijn leven. Het is een onderzoekende en actieve puber. Beagles staan wel wat bekend om hun koppige trekjes, en zo ook Pedro. Als hij iets wil of niet wil, dan probeert hij er met volle kracht voor te zorgen dat hij krijgt wat hij wil. Zijn frustratie kan daarbij soms wat oplopen. Zijn aandachtspersoon is er goed mee bezig om hem te leren hoe het ‘normale’ hondenleven werkt en hem wat geduld bij te brengen. Dit gaat al de goede kant op: hij leert, ontwikkelt zich en krijgt steeds meer geduld en kan ook zichzelf bezig houden. Hij wandelt ondertussen goed aan de riem en we zijn bezig met zijn zindelijkheid. Eten is leven, waardoor hij ook goed trainbaar is en we verwachten dat hij nog veel meer kan leren. Hij is in contact gekomen met andere honden. Dit vindt hij prettig en hij speelt er graag mee. Wel beschermt hij zijn speeltjes tegenover de andere honden wat het beste gemanaged moet worden. We zoeken voor Pedro een huis met een tuin bij mensen die al wat hondenervaring hebben en kennis hebben van de leerprincipes van honden.
