PeeWee

Chihuahua · Male · Puppy · 3 months

PeeWee is a confident pup looking for a home where he can show off his fun personality. He is located at our Old Windsor Centre. Being so young PeeWee will need all the basic training, there is a big wide world that he is yet to experience, and new owners will need to socialise him slowly so everyone can enjoy his spirited personality. He is very food motivated, which will be great aid for training. Toys have been great fun too - chasing tennis balls and tug of war with rope toys and a side of zoomies. PeeWee thinks he is a lot bigger than his 2kg size. Being a puppy he can mouth on hands and clothes when over excited, so we are teaching him to focus more on toys. He could possibly live with another dog in the home that will be well rounded role model for him, and who could cope with puppy play style. PeeWee will be a fun companion and is sure to bring a lot of joy and sass to a household. If you have already completed our online rehoming form and would like to know more about PeeWee, you can e-mail our rehoming team on to register your interest. We ask every customer to first complete our online rehoming application form, so if you have not filled in our form yet you can find the details on how to do so here;

About PeeWee

What life with PeeWee looks like

PeeWee is a large puppy/kitten chihuahua dog waiting at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home in London.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting PeeWee, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about PeeWee?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Battersea Dogs & Cats Home handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw PeeWee on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt PeeWee if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Battersea Dogs & Cats Home will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is PeeWee already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if PeeWee isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Battersea Dogs & Cats Home early rather than rehoming privately; they know PeeWee and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
