Peppé

Female · Young · 1 year

An active and charming guy who loves life outdoors. Peppé is a happy, energetic mixed breed with lots of drive and willingness to work. Outdoors, he's always on the move and enjoys moving, exploring new environments, and using both his body and nose. He would probably appreciate a home where long walks, hikes, runs, or maybe bike rides are a natural part of daily life. It's clear that he thrives best when he can be active and use his energy in a positive way, and he would likely have appreciated activities such as tracking and lots of time in the forest and nature. At the same time, there is a cozy and calm side to him; after a long day outside, he loves to curl up on the sofa and just relax near his person. The dog has undergone a BPH test (Behavior and Personality Description) to give a clearer picture of its personality and characteristics. Peppé has a hunting instinct and therefore should not live together with cats. At dog meetings, he sometimes barks at other dogs outdoors, but he functions well on leash walks with other dogs when the situation becomes calm and clear for him. He needs continued training and support in meetings, and he feels best when someone stays one step ahead and helps him divert and focus before he gets stressed or intense. With the right guidance and a calm, secure person who helps him through difficult situations, there are good opportunities for further development. Peppé is looking for an active and engaged home where he can express his drive and energy in a positive way. He suits best with someone who likes to be outside a lot and who gladly shares daily life with a dog who wants to join adventures in nature. A home where activities such as forest walks, hikes, or tracking would suit him very well. With the right balance between activity, guidance, and recovery, Peppé is a wonderful and affectionate dog who gladly explores the world and snuggles on the sofa afterwards.

SV·Show original

About Peppé

What life with Peppé looks like

Peppé is a young adult dog waiting at Hundstallet in Stockholm.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇸🇪Adopting from Sweden

Swedish shelters require an adoption application and home visit. Animals are chipped, vaccinated, and sterilized. Cross-border placements within the EU use the standard pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Peppé, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Peppé?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hundstallet handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Peppé on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Peppé if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Hundstallet will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Peppé already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Peppé isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hundstallet early rather than rehoming privately; they know Peppé and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (SV). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
