Perełka

Mixed Breed · Female

Hello, I'm Perełka! I'm a tiny, barely two-kilogram old lady. I came to Psitula on August 19, 2026, after an intervention by the Society for the Protection of Animals. I had a home and a person who loved me. Unfortunately, my owner is currently unable to provide me with the right conditions. My future is still uncertain - we still hope that the situation will change and I will be able to return to my home. However, if this proves impossible, I will need a new, loving family. Despite all this change, I am an extremely cheerful little dog. I love people, I love the whole world! I'm everywhere, I love to accompany my caregivers and I definitely don't like being alone. I love soft beds where I can comfortably rest, and I love all kinds of treats - I'm a real glutton. Unfortunately, I have to be careful with food because my liver doesn't work as well as it should. So I need a proper diet and careful care that will help me enjoy good health for as long as possible. I keep myself clean. I was vaccinated and dewormed, I'm also microchipped and spayed. For now, I'm waiting to see what will happen next. And I, as I always do, try to enjoy every day, every caress and every soft blanket.

About Perełka

What life with Perełka looks like

Perełka is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko Zabrze in Zabrze.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Perełka, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Perełka?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Zabrze handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Perełka on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Perełka if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Zabrze will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Perełka already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Perełka isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Zabrze early rather than rehoming privately; they know Perełka and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
