Perry

Guinea Pig · Unknown · Young · 1 year

Perry is another of our fabulous long haired boys, and we’re not quite sure what is going on with his hairstyle! He looks like he could be a very impressive toupee! Perry was sadly found abandoned with Percy, both boys arriving in a matted, neglected and unloved condition. Thankfully, Perry is a very sweet boy who is a bit shy but has come through his difficult start and is now enjoying the care and attention he deserves. Unfortunately, Perry and Percy don’t get along with each other, so Perry will need a home all his own. He will soon be castrated, and once he has recovered, we think its best he be able to enjoy life alongside some lovely female guinea pigs. Perry’s beautiful long coat will need regular grooming and maintenance to keep it healthy and prevent painful mats, so his new family will need to be prepared for a little extra grooming care. Perry has been through enough and deserves a wonderful forever home where he can be spoiled, loved and allowed to rock that spectacular hairdo! Guinea pigs need a spacious, secure enclosure no smaller than 160cm x 60cm (4×2 C&C) day or night but the bigger the better!

About Perry

What life with Perry looks like

Perry is a young adult guinea pig animal waiting at Thornberry Animal Sanctuary in United Kingdom.

Every animal has their own temperament and history. The shelter knows Perry far better than any listing can convey — ask about daily routine, ideal household, and what kind of adopter they're hoping for.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Perry, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Perry?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Thornberry Animal Sanctuary handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Perry on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Perry if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Thornberry Animal Sanctuary will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Perry already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most animals on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Perry isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Thornberry Animal Sanctuary early rather than rehoming privately; they know Perry and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
