Pflegehund Halloumi

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 1 year

Since in Germany: January 2026 at foster home in: 88471 Laupheim Gender: Female Estimated Age: Born around July 2025 Estimated final height: about 40 - 59 cm Get to know Halloumi directly in the video! Young dog Halloumi is looking for her forever home - she is waiting in 88471 Laupheim! Halloumi was rescued from a killing station, where she repeatedly came desperately to the fence, stretched out her paws and wanted nothing more than to be seen and rescued! The female dog was discovered and was allowed to move to her foster home in Germany with a stop at a Romanian animal shelter. Here she has already learned a lot: she can easily drive a car, is house-trained and can be relaxed alone for several hours! Currently, Halloumi still withdraws a lot into her dog bed, but she is becoming braver every day and is venturing out more and more. The female dog is gaining more and more trust and is learning that she is now safe and does not need to be afraid anymore! She even enjoys jumping through the grass in the garden these days and looks like a little rabbit. She also becomes more active during walks. Halloumi is suitable for a home with an enclosed garden in a quiet area. Existing children should be older and calm, she gets along very well with dogs! Also, she is ideal as an office dog! We are looking for a loving home for this little fur nose - a place where she can discover the world, build trust and simply be a puppy. Anyone who adopts a young dog should be aware of how demanding daily life with a young dog can be. The first years of life are an exciting journey that human and dog go through together - with highs, lows and lots of learning moments. We wish Halloumi people with patience, empathy and perseverance - and with the understanding that rescue dogs often have a certain history. How exactly they react to their new life in Germany cannot be completely predicted. But one thing is certain: whoever adopts instead of buying not only gives an animal a second chance, but actively decides against animal suffering - and for a life with a very special companion by their side. Already in love? Send us a self-disclosure form! Adoption If you are considering an adoption, please read through the adoption process first. All dogs are vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, treated for fleas and neutered (exceptions are puppies up to 6 months and very old dogs). Dogs older than 1 year are additionally tested for Mediterranean diseases. If you have any questions, feel free to send our adoption team a message.

In Deutschland seit: Januar 2026 Auf Pflegestelle in: 88471 Laupheim Geschlecht: Weiblich Geschätztes Alter: geb. ca. Juli 2025 Geschätzte Endschulterhöhe: ca. 40 – 49 cm Geschätztes Gewicht: 10 – 14 kg Lerne hier Halloumi direkt im Video kennen!

About Pflegehund Halloumi

What life with Pflegehund Halloumi looks like

Pflegehund Halloumi is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Hunderettung Europa e.V. in Duisburg.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Pflegehund Halloumi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Pflegehund Halloumi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hunderettung Europa e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Pflegehund Halloumi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Pflegehund Halloumi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Hunderettung Europa e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Pflegehund Halloumi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Pflegehund Halloumi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hunderettung Europa e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Pflegehund Halloumi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
