Pflegehund Marley

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 5 years

Marley is a gentle male dog waiting for his new home in Willich, Germany. He was rescued from a Romanian animal shelter where he was found alone and exhausted in a kennel. We explain how dogs end up there and more in our FAQ. Marley has the opportunity to experience life with a foster family before adoption, which allows him to adjust better and for potential adopters to get to know his character. He is currently settling into his new environment and we will update this description as soon as we can provide more information about his personality. If you are already in love with Marley, please fill out the self-assessment form below. In the shelter, Marley was initially quiet but quickly gained trust through contact. He actively sought gentle affection and relaxed while being petted. Throughout his stay, he has been calm and friendly. We hope to find a home for this furry friend with people who understand that rescue dogs have a history. We can never predict how a dog will react to life in Germany, so we are looking for people with patience, perseverance, and goodwill. But one thing is certain: adopting instead of buying not only gives an animal a second chance but also actively prevents animal suffering - and leads to a life with a very special companion by your side. In love yet? Fill out the self-assessment form! Adoption If you are considering adoption, please read through our adoption process first. All dogs receive vaccinations, microchipping, deworming, flea treatment, and neutering before traveling (except for puppies under 6 months and very old dogs). Dogs over one year of age also undergo testing for Mediterranean diseases. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact our adoption team.

About Pflegehund Marley

What life with Pflegehund Marley looks like

Pflegehund Marley is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Hunderettung Europa e.V. in Duisburg.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Pflegehund Marley, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Pflegehund Marley?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hunderettung Europa e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Pflegehund Marley on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Pflegehund Marley if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Hunderettung Europa e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Pflegehund Marley already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Pflegehund Marley isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hunderettung Europa e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Pflegehund Marley and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
