Piccolino Breed: Mix Age: born 08.08.2025 Size: approx. 35-40cm Weight: approx. 13 kg Neutered: Not yet Other dogs? Yes Children? Yes Cats? Must be tested Mediterranean test? Too young Location: Shelter (K) Piccolino is the son of Poulia and a little clever whirlwind! He is full of energy and strength and could probably jump around all day, a real little bouncing ball. Piccolino and his mom Poulia were given up together and currently live together in a kennel. Piccolino shows himself very affectionate and open to people. He has no problems with people and enjoys their proximity. However, with other dogs, it shows that Piccolino is currently taking a closer look. He is in the middle of puberty and of course wants to try how far he comes and assert himself. 😊 Therefore, Piccolino needs people who lovingly but consistently set boundaries and teach him the dog1x1. A good upbringing is particularly important for him, so that his temperamental nature becomes a great companion. We see in Piccolino an active family dog who likes to be there, wants to experience a lot and will surely bring a lot of joy to his people. Before the trip to the new home, X-rays will be made on request, for a fee, to make sure that all joints are in order. The fee is decided by the number of X-rays. Piccolino Rasse: Mischling Alter: geb.

About Piccolino

What life with Piccolino looks like

Piccolino is a small young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Notfellchen Rumänien e.V. in Germany.

A young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Piccolino, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Piccolino?: Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Notfellchen Rumänien e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Piccolino on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Piccolino if I live in another country?: Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Notfellchen Rumänien e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Piccolino already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?: Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Piccolino isn't the right fit?: Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Notfellchen Rumänien e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Piccolino and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?: TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
