Claudia S. Pico, born approximately 2018, spayed, approximately 45 cm shoulder height, in the shelter since 10/2021 Pico was rescued from the public Alexandria animal shelter before his young life would have already ended there. Since then, he has lived with Maria in the shelter and is still waiting for his own home. The current videos show how Pico has developed: he has become curious and now seeks contact with humans on his own. At the same time, he is still uncertain - if it gets too close or too much, he steps back again. It is noticeable that he is not familiar with daily close human contact and therefore sometimes reacts a bit restless. It is not rejection, but uncertainty and lack of routine. Pico was never without other dogs and is strongly oriented towards the pack. Therefore, he should not live as a single dog in his future home, but absolutely have a confident first dog by his side. He gets along very well with other dogs in the kennel. Pico has made great progress. With patience, structure and a secure environment, he will be able to open up further. He needs people who give him time - then he will build trust step by step. Currently located in Romania and allowed to travel out if a home is found. Travels chipped and vaccinated (EU vaccination passport; vaccinations: rabies and basic immunization). All dogs are treated for intestinal parasites and ectoparasites at their arrival in the shelter and at least once a year thereafter. The described behavioral observations are based on everyday life in the shelter and may be different in a domestic environment under changed living conditions. 02/2026 Tierarztpatin: Claudia S. Pico, geboren ca. 2018, kastriert, ca. 45 cm Schulterhöhe, im Shelter seit 10/2021 Pico wurde aus dem öffentlichen Tierheim Alexandria gerettet, bevor sein junges Leben dort schon zu Ende gewesen wäre. Seitdem lebt er bei Maria im Shelter und wartet noch immer auf sein eigenes Zuhause. In den aktuellen Videos sieht man gut, wie sich Pico entwickelt hat: Er ist neugierig geworden und sucht inzwischen von sich aus den Kontakt zum Menschen. Gleichzeitig ist er noch unsicher – wenn es ihm zu nah oder zu viel wird, geht er wieder ein Stück zurück. Man merkt, dass er den täglichen engen Menschenkontakt nicht kennt und deshalb manchmal etwas hibbelig reagiert. Es ist keine Ablehnung, sondern Unsicherheit und fehlende Routine. Pico war nie ohne andere Hunde und orientiert sich stark am Rudel. Deshalb sollte er in seinem zukünftigen Zuhause nicht als Einzelhund leben, sondern unbedingt einen souveränen Ersthund an seiner Seite haben. Mit anderen Rüden im Zwinger versteht er sich sehr gut. Pico hat große Fortschritte gemacht. Mit Geduld, Struktur und einem sicheren Umfeld wird er sich weiter öffnen können. Er braucht Menschen, die ihm Zeit geben – dann wird er Schritt für Schritt Vertrauen aufbauen. Befindet sich aktuell in Rumänien und darf ausreisen, wenn er ein Zuhause gefunden hat. Reist gechipt und geimpft (EU Impfpass; Impfungen: Tollwut und Grundimmunisierung). Alle Hunde werden bei ihrer Ankunft im Shelter sowie anschließend mindestens einmal jährlich gegen Darmparasiten und Ektoparasiten behandelt. Die geschilderten Verhaltensbeobachtungen basieren auf dem Alltag im Shelter und können sich in einem häuslichen Umfeld unter veränderten Lebensbedingungen entsprechend anders darstellen.
