Piggy

Female · Young · 3 years

Piggy is a gorgeous girl, who adores playing with her toys! She loves a game of tug, chase and destroy of any soft toys she might be able to find! Piggy would prefer a quieter environment as she can get a bit overwhelmed if things are too chaotic, but once settled, will be an angel. Piggy may need a bit of support on her house-training, but travels well in the car. She can pull a bit on lead if excited, but is happy with handling to be harnessed up! Piggy does find the vets a little worrying, so is learning to wear a muzzle to ensure safety. She is a sweet girl, with a heart of gold! We can't wait to see her thriving in her forever home. Meet gorgeous girl, Piggy! Piggy is a 3.5-year old Pocket Bully looking for her forever home. Piggy is a sweet angel, who loves a fuss and a big cuddle from her favourite people. Piggy loves toys, and this is the way to her heart! She loves a good play, followed by a tasty treat - she is not picky! Piggy is looking to be the only dog in the home, as she needs a bit of work on her social skills. Any children in the home should be older secondary school age and above, as she can be a little worried meeting new people initially but soon comes round for a good snuggle. Piggy likes to explore new places, but quieter would be ideal where she won't see too many dogs out and about initially. Piggy is a sweet girl, who settles well with her people around. She will make a wonderful companion, and is definitely one for the Bully lovers!

About Piggy

What life with Piggy looks like

Piggy is a large young adult dog waiting at Dogs Trust Cardiff in Cardiff.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Piggy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Piggy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dogs Trust Cardiff handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Piggy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Piggy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dogs Trust Cardiff will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Piggy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Piggy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dogs Trust Cardiff early rather than rehoming privately; they know Piggy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
