Ruska and Pihka are foster kittens. The cats now live at KKY’s premises, but they’ve also spent some time in their first home. Therefore, a home-like environment is familiar and enjoyable for these cats. In their previous home, the cats became stressed by the young children who had joined the family, so Ruska and Pihka are being sought a calm home with adult humans and well-established routines. The cats have become so attached to each other and find comfort in one another that they’re being looked for a shared home. Ruska is an 8-year-old, curious and beautiful tortoiseshell girl. She’s quite particular about her food and sometimes has to keep an eye on her sister to make sure she doesn’t eat her food as well. Ruska gets very upset by loud noises and a restless environment, so she needs a peaceful living space. Of course, she’s accustomed to normal household sounds such as music and television. Occasionally, she plays independently with balls, and sometimes she even gets excited about playing with human toys like string toys. While in her first home, Ruska would get active in the evenings, running around, playing, and even her litter box reportedly opened spontaneously. Human touch mostly scares Ruska, though she has gradually learned to tolerate it a bit. However, she does dare to take treats from a human’s hand. Ruska probably won’t become a lap cat, although otherwise she enjoys human company. Ruska is generally healthy. Tartar was removed on 6/2026, and there was no need for further dental treatment. Pihka warms up to new things more slowly than Ruska. Pihka is also 8 years old and has a beautiful tortoiseshell coat pattern. On the other hand, Pihka is a very gentle cat, and she has patiently allowed grooming procedures (such as rinsing her mouth after tooth extraction) to be carried out. While in her first home, she occasionally followed the human around, though she also enjoyed spending plenty of time alone in her own quiet space. At mealtime, she’d hang around the human’s legs together with her sister. Once released, Pihka has her own playtime. She happily accepts treats from a human’s hand. Pihka has had ear problems that were treated with a course of medication. A suspected food allergy was identified as the cause of the ear issues, which is why the cat currently follows a special diet. In June 2026, Pihka underwent dental care and had a total of 6 teeth extracted due to periodontitis; therefore, regular annual dental check-ups are especially important for Pihka.
