Pimpek

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 3 years

The beginning of his life was not roses - he was taken to an animal shelter from bad conditions, where he did not experience as much love as he deserves. Now he is waiting for someone to give him a chance for a loving home, full of affection, play and comfort. Energetic, lively and loving people - that's Pimpek. Although there are still many fears in his little head and contact with humans is still a challenge, he overcomes his barriers and despite the stress, he very much longs for contact with us, jumping like a spring right up to our nose (so be careful, because such kisses can be quite rough). He needs a moment to gain trust, and initially, walks required many tugs to get Pimpek out of the animal shelter area, but he quickly became fascinated with the new surroundings, loves sniffing, rolling in the grass and running, so he would be the perfect companion for someone who likes active walks. This dog holds a lot of energy in his 9-kilogram body, which cannot be released in shelter conditions, going out for one, maximum two walks per week, so he sometimes insists on pulling on the leash. However, this situation will certainly change when his need for movement is regularly fulfilled. Pimpek, although he has many qualities, still needs to work on some of his reactions. He barks at the sight of other dogs, wanting to run towards them, and although he does not seem to express aggression towards them, if he shares a space with another dog, it could be a problem. He constantly tries to play with his roommate, so if he were to live with another dog, they must be appropriately matched in terms of temperament. This aspect is still to be verified more carefully. He has not had contact with cats, but he probably would react negatively to them. He is quite unsure about the noise of the city. He goes forward, but sometimes he gets scared by a louder car, so this is one of the things he still needs to get used to. Fortunately, Pimpek makes rapid progress and will certainly cope with this problem as well! With children, it's better to be cautious - Pimpek jumps a lot and high, and sometimes he playfully nips. A young child, although without bad intentions, could be frightened by this. With older children, there will be no problem, provided they respect his boundaries. Pimpek is a small, young dog weighing 9 kg. He is microchipped, vaccinated and neutered. He is waiting for his person at the animal shelter in Choszczno. If you want to learn more about him or Pimpek has impressed you enough to give him a home, contact volunteer Ariel - phone/WhatsApp 532 470 639 (if I don't answer, please send an SMS!). If you want to help this dog but cannot adopt him - we invite you to walks! Every day between .

polski English Deutsch Początki jego życia nie były usłane różami - trafił do schroniska odebrany interwencyjnie, ze złych warunków, gdzie nie zaznał tyle miłości, na ile zasługuje pies - teraz czeka, aż ktoś da mu szansę na kochający dom, pełen czułości, zabawy i komfortu. Energiczny, ruchliwy i kochający ludzi - to właśnie Pimpek. Pimpek to mały, młody pies o wadze 9 kg. Został zaczipowany, zaszczepiony i wykastrowany. Czeka na swojego człowieka w schronisku w Choszcznie. About Pimpek

What life with Pimpek looks like

Pimpek is a small young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko Choszczno in Poland.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Pimpek, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Pimpek?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Choszczno handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Pimpek on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Pimpek if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Choszczno will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Pimpek already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Pimpek isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Choszczno early rather than rehoming privately; they know Pimpek and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
