Adopt Pina

Mixed Breed · Female

Origin: Linares (Andalusia) Location: Foster home in Kulmbach (Bavaria) Size / Weight: 36 cm at the shoulder, 8 kg Additional: spayed, microchipped with EU ID, vaccinated, tested negative for Mediterranean diseases Character: a bit cautious towards strangers, curious, open, compatible with other dogs New home: Natural environment, patience, time and no expectations, no small children, fenced garden Adoption fee: 450 euros At foster home in Kulmbach/Bavaria! Pina is a true sunshine dog and greets each day with curiosity and joy. With her open gaze and cheerful nature, she is waiting to discover the world together with her humans. When Pina arrived at her foster family, everything was new and a little frightening for her. Therefore, she initially appeared rather cautious and reserved. However, with some time, patience and loving support, she has made great progress and gained more confidence. She particularly likes to orient herself to the other dogs in the household, even if she doesn't always copy the most exemplary ideas. Pina is a little nature child full of explorer's enthusiasm. Outdoors, she really comes to life: running over logs and stones, experiencing small adventures and exploring nature together makes her happy. Her little talent as a climber also becomes apparent. She prefers to be away from the known paths and enjoys every new track, every scent and every small adventure. Pina is quickly excited about activities with her humans. Whether hikes, exciting trips or perhaps dog sports - she is curious, eager to learn and loves being involved. In this context, she often shows her charmingly humorous side. A small stumble from the couch or an unintended trip into the roadside ditch? For Pina, no problem, she takes life with surprising calmness and a good dose of humor. She gets on very well with other dogs. During play, it can be a bit wilder and tougher, just like a terrier. New situations outdoors sometimes unsettle her, but when she can rely on her humans and is given the necessary security and some distance, she handles such moments very well. With patience and understanding, she gradually develops into a confident companion. For Pina, we wish a loving home with active, nature-connected people who enjoy discovering the world together with her. An existing dog would certainly give her additional security and be a wonderful addition. If you think Pina could fit perfectly into your life, we would be very happy to hear from you. About Pina

What life with Pina looks like

Pina is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Franz von Assisi Hundenothilfe e.V. (Hunde ohne Lobby) in Vilseck.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Pina, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Pina?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Franz von Assisi Hundenothilfe e.V. (Hunde ohne Lobby) handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Pina on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Pina if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Franz von Assisi Hundenothilfe e.V. (Hunde ohne Lobby) will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Pina already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Pina isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Franz von Assisi Hundenothilfe e.V. (Hunde ohne Lobby) early rather than rehoming privately; they know Pina and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
