Pina

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy

The little mixed-breed dog Pina is looking for her forever home! Just 1.5 months old, Pina was abandoned together with her brother Tamo in front of our partner animal shelter in Bulgaria. Fortunately, the two were found and can now grow up safely. Starting in October, Pina will be able to move into her own home or a loving foster home. Pina is a typical puppy: full of joy for life, bursting with energy and imagination, and always ready for play, fun, and new adventures. She’s open and friendly toward other dogs, already learning a lot from them, and approaches people with curiosity, openness, and affection. If you’d like to give this sweet little pup a home, you should be aware of what it means to accompany a puppy as she grows up. Things like house training, being left alone, or riding in the car are all skills Pina still needs to learn step by step. Equally important is providing age-appropriate stimulation, showing her the world with patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement. Even small setbacks are part of the journey and should be met with calmness and understanding. Pina wants to please others and explore the world. With love, time, gentle training, and plenty of shared adventures, she’ll blossom into a loyal companion. Who will give little Pina the chance for a happy, dog-friendly life and a loving forever home? Adopting a rescue dog always means taking on a special responsibility and can also be quite challenging. These dogs come with a backpack of past experiences or unlearned situations and need time to adjust to their new life. If you’re seriously interested in adopting Pina, please get in touch with the responsible adoption coordinator at SALVA Hundehilfe. We’d also be delighted to receive offers of foster care.

About Pina

What life with Pina looks like

Pina is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. in Germany.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Pina, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Pina?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Pina on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Pina if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Pina already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Pina isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Pina and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
