Volvo came to us as an intake dog from the region when Herrchen unexpectedly passed away and another husbandry was not possible. He is very people-oriented and very interested in everything he can experience. Volvo is cuddly and always ready for adventures. His upbringing still needs some fine-tuning, with special attention needed on his patience and the importance of learning to stay calm. Being alone in the company is not a problem. Since he generally has a friendly character, paired with curiosity and a good appetite, he remains safe in training with treats. He lives with female dogs at our shelter. Whether he is compatible with male dogs needs to be tested on a case-by-case basis. Cats and other animals trigger his hunting instinct and should ideally not be present. Children are welcome, provided they are also even-tempered and calm to avoid stressing the little dog’s heart. To ensure Volvo can continue to thrive, we recommend a visit to the dog training classes to burn off some energy and also challenge his mind beyond just his paws. With friendly and consistent loving training, including obedience classes, in mind. He would prefer to live in a well-secured house with a yard, but apartment living is also suitable. Volvo kam als Abgabehund der Region zu uns, da Herrchen unerwartet verstarb und eine weitere Haltung nicht möglich war. Er ist sehr menschenbezogen und sehr interessiert an Allem, was er erleben kann.Volvo ist verschmust und ständig bereit für Unternehmungen. An seiner Erziehung sollte noch gefeilt werden, besonderes Augenmerk muss auf seiner Geduld liegen, das Ruhe bewahren muss unbedingt erlernt werden. In Gesellschaft ist das Alleinbleiben kein Problem.Da er grundsätzlich einen freundlichen Charakter besitzt, gepaart mit Neugier und einen guten Appetit, bleibt er im Training sicher mit Leckerchen bezahlbar. Bei uns lebt er mit Hündinnen zusammen.Ob er mit Rüden verträglich ist, muss im Einzelfall probiert werden. Katzen und andere Tiere wecken seinen Jagdinstinkt und sollten möglichst nicht vorhanden sein.Kinder gern, wenn diese auch ausgeglichen und ruhig sein können, um das kleine kleine Hundeherz nicht noch zusätzlich aufzumischen. Damit Volvo auch weiterhin richtig Gas geben kann, empfehlen wir einen Besuch in der Hundeschule, um dort etwas Dampf abzulassen und neben den vier Pfoten auch den Kopf auszulasten. Freundliches und konsequent liebevolles Training neben den Toberunden vorrausgesetzt.Gern zieht er in ein gut gesichertes Haus mit Grundstück, aber auch reine Wohnungshaltung ist vorstellbar.
