Adopt PIPA

Female · Puppy · 10 months

Gender: female Age: 10 months and 24 days Weight: 5.7 kg Estimated adult weight: < 10 kg. Breed: Pinscher/terrier mix Origin: Spain Available for adoption in: Switzerland Current location: Private kennel in Andalusia, Spain at our expense Arrival upon adoption: Friday May 15, 2026. Little Pipa Timo & PIPA were found by the roadside with their mother, they had a difficult start in life but are progressing well, two little treasures. Today, they are lively, intelligent and curious little dogs, always ready to discover the world around them. They are close to humans, playful, expressive and already very touching in their way of interacting. Behind their irresistible little faces, however, are young dogs who arrive without references and who will have to learn everything: living in a house, being clean, managing absences, daily rules. They will therefore need families who are present, patient and aware of the investment that even small dogs need, which is often underestimated. Children: From 7-10 years old, comfortable with dogs, respectful and attentive. Adopter profile: We will be very demanding in placing these little gems: People aged 30 to 65 max, stable and responsible First time adopters welcome Very large availability during the day (walks every 2-3 hours) for cleanliness Good physical condition and great patience are essential Mandatory commitment in a regular training and socialization program (followed by the association) Other dogs accepted if they are balanced and spayed Secure garden is a plus for cleanliness, but if there is no garden it is mandatory to have small green areas nearby and quickly accessible for regular needs No more than 5 stairs If above the second floor, elevator is mandatory Thoughtful and committed long-term adoption We will only respond to adoption requests that meet the precise criteria listed in the adopter profile below. At the end of the contact form there is a message area, we like to read real motivations and useful additional information there.

About PIPA

What life with PIPA looks like

PIPA is a puppy/kitten dog waiting at Association Coeurs de Chiens in Lausanne (VD).

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting PIPA, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about PIPA?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Association Coeurs de Chiens handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw PIPA on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt PIPA if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Association Coeurs de Chiens will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is PIPA already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if PIPA isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Association Coeurs de Chiens early rather than rehoming privately; they know PIPA and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
