Rosalie Rosalie is a quiet, brave and deeply touching little mother. Found on the street with her two puppies Pipa & Timo, she went through a difficult period alone. We don't know her past, but everything suggests she hasn't always lived outdoors. She's a small dog that ended up there... and despite everything, she took care of her babies until the end. Today safe, ROSALIE shows a very beautiful nature. She is gentle, sociable, close to humans, still young and certainly has a lot to learn, with a kind gaze and a real desire for connection. She attaches easily and enjoys presence without being intrusive. ROSALIE is a sensitive little dog who now deserves a calm life. We see her flourish in a quiet, stable environment, with people who are available and have time to dedicate to her. A quiet home, without agitation, will suit her perfectly. Her story: Rescue and sponsorship by Coeurs de Chiens Children: Not in the adopter's home, but peripheral. Cats: To be tested upon request, but attention will depend on the cat (max 1) present, whether it is accustomed to dogs or not, and whether it has outdoor access or an indoor space with accessible high positions. Adoption profile: Each dog we place needs an adaptation period that can last from 3 to 6 months, depending on their history and experiences. An educational and socialization commitment will be required as well as a high presence rate with the dog in the beginning. We are open to living environments (city outside center, countryside), but attention will depend on the type/size of housing, its location, elevator required from the second floor upwards. Age profile: 30 to 70 years old maximum, physically and mentally fit.

About ROSALIE

What life with ROSALIE looks like

ROSALIE is a young adult yorkshire terrier dog waiting at Association Coeurs de Chiens in Lausanne (VD).

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting ROSALIE, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about ROSALIE?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Association Coeurs de Chiens handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw ROSALIE on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt ROSALIE if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Association Coeurs de Chiens will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is ROSALIE already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if ROSALIE isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Association Coeurs de Chiens early rather than rehoming privately; they know ROSALIE and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
