Adopt Pippa

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 10 years

Our charming Pippa, born in 2016, is a beautiful tortoiseshell cat with a uniquely two-colored face that makes her unmistakable. She came to us together with Fiete, but due to the large age difference, the two now seek homes that better suit their needs: While Fiete looks for a suitable playmate, Pippa would rather enjoy the company of calm, older cats – perhaps with a laid-back first cat that can show her what life with humans is like. Pippa is currently still very shy and meets new things cautiously. However, she is by no means aggressive – if something makes her feel uneasy, she simply withdraws and seeks her own space. With patient people who give her time and do not expect anything from her, she will surely gain trust over time. In her lies a lot of potential for a wonderful, cuddly roommate who, at first, might be a bit reserved but will warm up to the right family. So far, Pippa has only known suitable apartment living with a balcony. We can imagine her having a secure outdoor area after a gentle adjustment period – this could bring her new quality of life. For Pippa, we wish to find a quiet home with patient people who understand cats and enjoy taking a sensitive cat at her own pace. Please write to us. As soon as we receive your message, we will get back to you as soon as possible. Please give us one to two days for a response.

About Pippa

What life with Pippa looks like

Pippa is a large adult mixed breed cat waiting at Tierschutz Euskirchen e.V. in Germany.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Pippa, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Pippa?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutz Euskirchen e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Pippa on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Pippa if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutz Euskirchen e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Pippa already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Pippa isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutz Euskirchen e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Pippa and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
