Pippa

Mixed Breed · Female · Kitten

Pippa is waiting for her own owner for far too long. Hi, I'm Pippa. I was born on June 10, 2026, and have been waiting in the animal shelter since August 4 for someone who wants to give me a nice and quiet home. I'm a bit of a shy girl. When people come to look at me, I find it all quite exciting. Maybe that's also the reason why I haven't found a owner yet. But behind my timid side is a curious cat. If you treat me calmly, you'll get closer and closer. You can also just pick me up, so I'm not unapproachable. I especially need someone who gives me time to get used to and doesn't expect me to be a cuddly cat right away. With a lot of patience, peace, and love, I think I can learn a lot and gain more and more trust. Give me the chance to discover at my own pace that people can also be very kind. I get along well with other cats, so a quiet cat companion wouldn't be a problem for me. Who looks beyond my shyness and wants to give me the time to grow into a happy and sweet cat? I've been waiting for my own place for so long and hope that my new owner will finally see me as I really am. ❤️

About Pippa

What life with Pippa looks like

Pippa is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed cat waiting at Dierencentrum De Mère in Netherlands.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇳🇱Adopting from Netherlands

Dutch shelters typically require a household assessment and an adoption contract. Animals are routinely sterilized, microchipped, and registered in the national pet database (NDG) before placement.

Frequently asked

Adopting Pippa, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Pippa?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dierencentrum De Mère handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Pippa on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Pippa if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dierencentrum De Mère will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Pippa already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Pippa isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dierencentrum De Mère early rather than rehoming privately; they know Pippa and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
