Pippilotta

Female · Senior · 13 years

We promise: Pippilotta is definitely not as bad-tempered as she looks. On the contrary, she is very gentle and starts to purr as soon as you approach her. She is a quiet cat lady, but not exactly the youngest anymore. Wild antics are not Pippilotta’s style, and why should she come out of her cozy den for a photoshoot when a stroking hand can come to her? The senior lady came to us as a found animal, and unfortunately, no one has claimed her. Pippilotta must have had a home once, because she was already spayed and is not a typical stray cat. Now we are looking for a quiet home with plenty of human companionship and cozy spots for her. She still has a lot of love to give and definitely deserves a home where she can arrive and be spoiled. Her esteemed 13 years are not entirely without their effects on Pippilotta. She has slightly elevated kidney values, a typical age-related appearance in cats. We are already feeding her exclusively with kidney food, and unlike many other cats, it seems to suit her. Her teeth are of course not those of a young cat either, but no intervention is currently necessary. Pippilotta has the special habit of scattering her cat litter very generously all around while walking, by accident. How she manages to do this is still a mystery, because she is not (anymore) the kind of cat that causes much chaos. For our sweet Pippilotta, we would like to find a home suitable for apartment living with a secure outdoor area, so she can enjoy the sun in the summer. A loud, exciting household would likely be too stressful for her, but she would certainly appreciate a lot of human company. As for her behavior, Pippilotta is also suitable for cat beginners. However, when it comes to senior cats, one should have a good eye for (health) changes and be willing to deal with typical age-related appearances.

DE·Show original

About Pippilotta

What life with Pippilotta looks like

Pippilotta is a extra-large senior cat waiting at Tierheim Bonn in Bonn.

Senior cats are the gentlest house guests: predictable, mostly silent, and grateful for a sunny windowsill. Older cats often have minor dental or kidney issues — keep an eye on water intake and weight. Many sleep eighteen hours a day and want no part of any drama.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Pippilotta, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Pippilotta?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Bonn handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Pippilotta on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Pippilotta if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Bonn will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Pippilotta already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Pippilotta isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Bonn early rather than rehoming privately; they know Pippilotta and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
