Píšťalka, July 20, 2026: Píšťalka is finishing her treatment. You might still remember how her story began again. She went into adoption and seemed to have found her forever home. But then breathing difficulties arose. The family didn't keep us informed about her condition—until our vet, whom Píšťalka had been brought to, called us because the X-ray results were very alarming: her lungs were filled with fluid, her condition critical—FIP. At that moment, it was clear to us that every minute counted. We alerted the caregivers that without immediate intervention, Píšťalka wouldn't survive. Yet they chose not to address the situation further. Late in the evening, we had to take her from the adoption home and headed straight to the emergency clinic. There, she underwent an urgent procedure and fought for her life. And that's precisely when her second chance began. Treatment for FIP is often fraught with uncertainty. But in Píšťalka's case, it went incredibly smoothly—without a single setback, without any complications. Each day, she made steady progress, step by step. From a health perspective, she recovered beautifully. And she herself changed as well. When she first left us, she was a shy little cat. In her adoptive home, her confidence didn't really improve much. But here with us, she slowly started to thaw out. Today, she stays close to us, comes over for visits, and watches what’s going on around her. She’s curious, eager to be part of everything. She still doesn’t quite like being touched yet, but she no longer runs away. She’s no longer as afraid as she used to be. Píšťalka isn’t mean. She’s not aggressive. Píšťalka 20.07.2026 Píšťalka končí léčbu. Možná si ještě pamatujete, jak její příběh znovu začal. Odešla do adopce a zdálo se, že má svůj domov. Jenže pak přišly potíže s dýcháním. Rodina nás o jejím stavu neinformovala. Až naše paní veterinářka, ke které byla Píšťalka přivedena, nám zavolala, protože RTG byl velmi špatný – plíce plné tekutiny, stav kritický - FIP. Tehdy nám bylo jasné, že jde o minuty. Upozornili jsme pečující osoby, že bez okamžitého zákroku Píšťalka nepřežije. Přesto se rozhodli situaci dál neřešit. V pozdních večerních hodinách jsme ji museli z adopce odebrat a vyrazili rovnou na pohotovost. Tam podstoupila akutní zákrok a bojovala o život. A právě tam začala její druhá šance. Léčba FIP bývá plná nejistoty. U Píšťalky ale proběhla neuvěřitelně klidně. Bez jediného výkyvu, bez komplikací. Každý den šla krok za krokem kupředu. Po zdravotní stránce se dala krásně dohromady. A změnila se i ona sama. Když odcházela, byla to plachá kočička. V adopci se její důvěra příliš neposunula. U nás ale začala pomalu roztávat. Dnes se drží blízko nás, přijde se podívat na návštěvu, sleduje dění kolem sebe. Je zvědavá, chce být součástí. Ještě úplně nechce, aby na ni někdo sahal, ale už neutíká. Už se nebojí tak jako dřív.
