Devil 01.04.2025 Nar. 5/2024 Devča was taken in with his mother and siblings from a municipal shelter. They ended up there when someone abandoned them in the waiting room at the vet with the intention of better care. Unfortunately, all the kittens except Devil eventually died. Their mother, possibly due to stress from being abandoned by someone she trusted and from being in the shelter, became very ill, stopped caring for the kittens, and they developed the disease within hours. We immediately started treatment. However, the kittens didn't respond to it at all. For several days, they lay apathetic, unable to swallow. We fought for them as much as we could, but for two of them, we had to make the most difficult decision and let them go. They were only four weeks old. Devilek kept fighting. At the time, he weighed barely 200 grams, and the situation didn't look good. On the contrary. When we started to think that the treatment was working, Devil gave up. He lay, completely apathetic, and gasped for breath with his last strength. We all said our goodbyes at that point. We were convinced that he only had hours left. And then something happened that we still can't explain. While Devil was struggling between life and death, and we were already mourning him, he must have somehow managed to sign a contract with the devil himself. Because within half a day, the dying kitten, who was just lying there helplessly gasping for breath, became a completely different Devil. Suddenly, he stood up. He started to play. He started to run. None of us understood what had just happened. And we still don't. And that's when he got his name - Devil. From that moment on, he just kept moving forward. Devčovi's illness returned after several months, and so he fought for life again. And he managed to do it. However, the long treatment and especially the long months of separation took their toll on him. Devil is not antisocial, not mean, and not shy. He's just a little different. At a time when the other kittens were playing, frolicking, learning to interact with humans, and discovering the world, he was fighting for his life. He was alone for a long time, and he never learned many things that are completely natural for other cats. He can't really enjoy a petting session. When you pet him, he arches his back, as if he doesn't know what to do with it. Petting isn't a natural way of communication for him. But he can show love. Just devilishly. Devílek is calm given his age, but he can also be playful and talkative. He is more drawn to cats than to people. He likes people and stays close to them, but he doesn't let himself be petted for a long time, and he won't purr with happiness. He grew up without a mother and in isolation, so that's just the way he is. His way of showing love is something completely different. He'll accompany you and guard you on the toilet, so that no wild animal will attack you in such an intimate moment. And he'll nibble on your fingers, which is probably the greatest sign of trust you can get from him. Devil is suitable for a similarly aged companion, in a quiet environment, without young children and without access to the outdoors. He is dewormed, vaccinated, tested, and neutered.
