Adopt Pitu

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 4 months

Size: Likely to be small at maturity Location: Romania 🐶🐾 Pitu – a little heartbreaker is searching for his forever home 💛 The little Pitu is one of six magical puppies that our animal rescuer found alone on the street. Their start in life was tough – without a mother, the little ones wouldn’t have had a chance in the winter. Thankfully, all six are now safely in the shelter, but for such small puppy children, that’s not a place to grow up. Now, Pitu also wants to discover the big wide world and find a loving home where he will be safe, loved, and nurtured. As the puppies have only been in the shelter since December 25, 2022, we can’t yet accurately assess their behavior. But as befits a puppy, Pitu will surely bring plenty of joy, curiosity, and playful energy. For Pitu, we wish for loving people with patience, heart, and time who will guide him through the dog 1×1 training and show him how wonderful a protected dog life can be. Who adopts Pitu will get a small, happy energy bundle with a big heart – and a loyal friend for life. 💕🐾 Pitu is vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, not yet neutered, and has been checked by a vet and is in possession of a Eu-Animal Passport. All our dogs travel with official trace papers and Paragraph 11 approval to Germany. Our dogs are additionally tested for Mediterranean diseases via a quick test. The adoption fee is 500€ plus 30€ for the purchase of safety gear. Note: When we assign our dogs to certain breeds, we base this on their outward appearance and observable behavior (phenotype). This assignment is made with the best of intentions and knowledge of the club and the involved veterinarians. However, these descriptions do not necessarily correspond to the actual genetic makeup (genotype), as their reliable determination would only be possible through a DNA analysis. Furthermore, the behavioral and character description of each animal is based on careful observations by the animal welfare workers on site or by the respective foster homes. It should be noted that these assessments are based solely on the current local conditions in the intake stations or foster homes.

About Pitu

What life with Pitu looks like

Pitu is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Rescued Souls e.V. in Pfinztal.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Pitu, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Pitu?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Rescued Souls e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Pitu on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Pitu if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Rescued Souls e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Pitu already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Pitu isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Rescued Souls e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Pitu and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
