Platón

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 5 years

Sex: Male. Approximate birth date: 2021 Health: Adopted out vaccinated, dewormed, tested, microchipped, and with a commitment to spay/neuter. History/temperament: Platón is another cat. He was raised at home and then dumped on the street with zero chance of survival. We took him in malnourished, sad, frightened, and very dirty, and despite his condition, he never stopped purring. He is doing much better now: he has gained weight, he is happier, and he is a wonderful cat, very, very affectionate and calm. He tested negative for FIV and feline leukemia and is neutered. Platón is looking for a home. Contact: refugiosanjorge.com Photos: link to his Facebook album

About Platón

What life with Platón looks like

Platón is an adult mixed breed cat waiting at Refugio San Jorge in Spain.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇪🇸Adopting from Spain

Spanish protectoras generally include sterilization, all vaccinations, microchip ID, and EU pet passport in the adoption fee. Many maintain partnerships with rescue transport providers across the EU.

Frequently asked

Adopting Platón, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Platón?: Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Refugio San Jorge handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Platón on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Platón if I live in another country?: Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Refugio San Jorge will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Platón already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?: Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Platón isn't the right fit?: Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Refugio San Jorge early rather than rehoming privately; they know Platón and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?: TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (ES). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
