Płotka

Female · Senior · 9 years

Plotka, a dog named after the place where she was found, is a 9-year-old female weighing just 10 kg. Despite her age, she has a lot of energy and is very people-oriented. She quickly shows that she enjoys interacting with her caregivers and is always eager to spend time with them. She is well-behaved on walks, walks nicely on a leash, and seems to have lived in a home before. She adapts well to everyday situations and enthusiastically goes on walks. Her distinctive feature is her impressive, radar-like ears. We suspect they can pick up signals from several neighborhoods at once. Thanks to them, Plotka is always up to date on what's happening around her. Sometimes, she even comments on passing cars or cyclists. After all, someone has to keep an eye on the neighborhood. We are looking for a home for her that will not focus on the number in her ID, but on the dog in front of them. Because Plotka definitely does not intend to retire. She still has many walks to take, many smells to check, and many kilometers to walk with her human. And her radar ears will make sure that nothing important is missed along the way.

About Płotka

What life with Płotka looks like

Płotka is a medium-sized senior dog waiting at Schronisko Na Paluchu in Warsaw.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Płotka, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Płotka?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Na Paluchu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Płotka on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Płotka if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Na Paluchu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Płotka already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Płotka isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Na Paluchu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Płotka and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
