Adopt Plume

European Shorthair · Female · Senior · 12 years

Hi friends! My name is Plume and I have my own little character, it's true, but know that it's not out of meanness. It's just that I'm a bit lost in my emotions. Petting makes me want it, oh yes, but I don't always know how to say it. The street has been my only world for so many years. I learned to survive, to manage on my own, to be wary of strangers. The codes of cuddles, of sweet shared moments, I don't really know them. I watch them from afar, fascinated, but I don't dare approach. My past is blurred, like a dream you no longer remember. Was I loved? Did I have a home? Or was I thrown on the street like an old kleenex? I don't know. But today, I am here, waiting for a happy future, for a hand that will know how to accept me as I am. I would love for you to open the doors of kindness, to show me what it really means to be loved. I am ready to learn, to be tamed, to discover what it feels like to be safe. If you have a little patience and a lot of love to give, I am here, waiting for our story to begin. Together, we could create a unique bond, a closeness that goes beyond words. Open the doors of your heart to me, and I promise that, despite my hesitations, I will do everything to become the loyal cat you deserve.

J’y ai appris à survivre, à me débrouiller seule, à me méfier des inconnus.

About Plume

What life with Plume looks like

Plume is a senior european shorthair cat waiting at S.P.A Vauclusienne in Piégon.

Senior cats are the gentlest house guests: predictable, mostly silent, and grateful for a sunny windowsill. Older cats often have minor dental or kidney issues — keep an eye on water intake and weight. Many sleep eighteen hours a day and want no part of any drama.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Plume, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Plume?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. S.P.A Vauclusienne handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Plume on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Plume if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — S.P.A Vauclusienne will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Plume already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Plume isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with S.P.A Vauclusienne early rather than rehoming privately; they know Plume and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
