Polpettina

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy

Mixed-breed Plopettina—searching for her place in life. Plopettina is one of eight siblings who were abandoned on the street together with their mother. Fortunately, our Bulgarian animal welfare activists were able to rescue this little family, and they are now safe and sound. Plopettina is now waiting to find her forever humans—or, initially, a loving foster home. The little dog is sweet, calm, and cautious. She first observes new situations calmly, yet remains friendly and open-minded. She gets along well in dog groups and approaches people with kindness and curiosity. We’re looking for people who will give Plopettina the time she needs—with patience and understanding—to settle into her new life. Like every puppy, she still has much to learn: house training, being left alone, riding in the car, and all the new sounds and impressions of everyday life. A puppy brings not only joy but also requires time, patience, loving guidance, and understanding to grow into a loyal companion. Plopettina dreams of a home where she can feel safe, of shared walks, age-appropriate activities, and lots of cuddly moments. Anyone who gives her the time she needs and accompanies her with love will find in Plopettina a truly special friend for life. Who would like to show Plopettina how wonderful having her own home can be? Adopting an animal shelter dog always means taking on a special responsibility and can also be quite challenging. These dogs come with a backpack of past experiences or unlearned situations and need time to adjust to their new life. If you’re seriously interested in adopting Plopettina, please get in touch with the responsible adoption coordinator at SALVA Hundehilfe. We’d also be delighted to receive offers of foster care.

About Polpettina

What life with Polpettina looks like

Polpettina is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. in Germany.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Polpettina, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Polpettina?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Polpettina on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Polpettina if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Polpettina already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Polpettina isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Polpettina and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
