adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Pompom has found her home! Her story: Pompom is about 6 months old and one of three sisters – found together with Peppie and Jolia, along with their mother, on the roadside in deep snow. The mother dog had great luck and was allowed to stay with the family that saved her. Both of her sisters have already moved to a loving family. Only the little Pompom is still eagerly waiting for a home where she can finally arrive. Pompom is a real gem: she has pretty, short beige fur, white paws, and ears that are a bit too big for her head, which hang to the side and give her a very cute expression. Originally, she was a bit insecure, but generally quite open to people. Since her sisters left, she has unfortunately withdrawn more and more and has become a bit shyer. However, she is very sweet and lets everything happen, but it will take a little longer until she can truly enjoy cuddles. With other dogs, however, Pompom gets along well. Whether big, small, old, or young, her four-legged friends like to have her around and she shows herself to be very social and clingy in their company. When fully grown, Pompom will be rather small to medium-sized, with the mother weighing only about 10 kg. Pompom still needs to learn the Welpen-1×1 – housebreaking, leash walking, being left alone, and basic commands. With loving, calm guidance and a good dose of humor, she will surely find her way quickly. A confident only-dog would certainly help her, but is not a must. Status: 04.04. This animal is vaccinated. This animal is microchipped. This is a puppy.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Lieben Dank an Ker Wa. Stand: 04.04.2026

About Pompom

What life with Pompom looks like

Pompom is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Pompom, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Pompom?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Pompom on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Pompom if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Pompom already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Pompom isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Pompom and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
