Our sweet Pontos was lucky enough to grow up on a finca during the first two years of his life. There, he had a family and felt safe and loved. Unfortunately, Pontos's world recently fell apart when his owners moved and were unable or unwilling to take him along. As a result, he ended up at the animal shelter and is now struggling to understand the world. Pontos is a very friendly and absolutely lovable dog who craves human companionship. Life behind kennel bars is terrible for the people-oriented Pontos, and he enjoys every minute he gets to be petted and cuddled. Whenever the volunteer helpers at the animal shelter have to leave Pontos's kennel, he stands sadly by the fence and whimpers. It’s crucial that Pontos leaves the animal shelter as soon as possible because he suffers greatly from loneliness. Pontos gets along well with other dogs and approaches everyone openly and friendly. He is still a relatively young dog and loves to move around and experience things together with his humans. He walks well on a leash and harness. Having a garden to play and romp in would be a dream come true for Pontos—but more important than that is finding people who will take time for him, include him closely in their lives, and treat him as a family member.

Update 18.07.2026, Karlsruhe. Pontos Pflegemama erzählt: Pontos ist ein herzensgutes Kerlchen. Bei seiner Ankunft, bei uns als Pflegefamilie, hat er von Beginn an gezeigt: Hier bin ich, ich habe ganz viel Zuneigung zu verteilen! Er kommt viel Kuscheln und lässt sich sehr gerne streicheln – manchmal stürmisch, aber immer noch sehr zärtlich. Er will uns regelrecht umarmen. Wenn er nicht voll im Kuschelmodus ist oder entspannt schläft, ist er auch gerne mal verspielt. Er ist sehr lernfreudig und übt gerade fleißig „Sitz“ und „Platz“.Draußen kommt der Jagdhund in Pontos zum Vorschein und er ist voll auf Fährtensuche. Da arbeiten wir aktuell daran, dass er seine Aufmerksamkeit auch auf seinen Menschen legt. Mit jedem Spaziergang klappt es auch schon ein kleines bisschen besser. Unserer Einschätzung nach, würde Pontos gut zu fitten Menschen passen, die seinem Temperament auch gerecht werden können. Natürlich möchte ein junger Rüde wie unser Pontos auch gut ausgelastet werden.Pontos hat in der Wohnung eine sehr schnelle Auffassungsgabe, insofern arbeiten wir weiter fleißig mit ihm auch bei unseren Gassi-Runden an der Impulskontrolle. Unser süßer Pontos durfte in den ersten beiden Jahren seines Lebens auf einer Finca aufwachsen. Dort hatte er eine Familie und fühlte sich geborgen und geliebt. Leider ist Pontos Welt vor kurzem in sich zusammengebrochen. Seine Besitzer zogen um. Pontos konnten oder wollten sie nicht mitnehmen. So landete er schließlich im Tierheim und versteht nun die Welt nicht mehr. Pontos ist ein sehr freundlicher und absolut liebenswerter Hund, der so sehr die Nähe zu Menschen sucht. Das Leben hinter Zwingergittern ist für den menschenbezogenen Pontos furchtbar und er genießt jede Minute, in der er gestreichelt und gekrault wird.
