Pony & Apollo

Unknown

Two inseparable birds are searching for their new home together 🐦💚 These two charming inseparables (agapornis) are looking for a loving home as a pair. As their name suggests, they prefer to spend their lives together—therefore, they will only be rehomed as a pair. Inseparables are lively, curious, and highly social parrots. They need plenty of space to fly, plenty of opportunities for mental stimulation, and close contact with their partner bird. Keeping them alone is therefore out of the question. We’re looking for a home that offers a spacious flight aviary where they can fully express their natural urge to move around. A purely cage-based environment does not meet their needs and is therefore not an option. If you’d like to provide these feathered friends with a species-appropriate home complete with ample space, time, and care, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with our animal shelter. Together, they’ll bring life, joy, and plenty of charm to their new home.

About Pony & Apollo

What life with Pony & Apollo looks like

Pony & Apollo is a large adult bird waiting at Tierheim Mönchengladbach in Mönchengladbach.

Birds are long-lived, social, and noisy. The species and individual history matter enormously — ex-companion parrots can carry strong attachments and trauma. Ask the shelter about their daily routine, diet, and whether they'd do best alone or with a flockmate.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

Paperwork, vet checks and transport rules differ by species and by country. Ask the shelter what is included and what you will need to arrange before you commit.

Frequently asked

Adopting Pony & Apollo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Pony & Apollo?: Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Mönchengladbach handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Pony & Apollo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Pony & Apollo if I live in another country?: Sometimes. Whether a bird can move between countries depends on the species and the rules in both countries, and some species need permits or have restrictions. Ask Tierheim Mönchengladbach what paperwork and transport they require, and check the import rules of your country before you commit.
Is Pony & Apollo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?: What a bird comes with (vet checks, vaccinations, identification, paperwork) varies by shelter and species. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask Tierheim Mönchengladbach directly what is included and what Pony & Apollo still needs.
What happens if Pony & Apollo isn't the right fit?: Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Mönchengladbach early rather than rehoming privately; they know Pony & Apollo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?: TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
