Adopt POP GIRL

Female · Adult · 7 years

Sighted: 12/20/2023 Breed: Hybrid Sex: Female Microchip: 967000010634556 Born: 12/20/2018 Country: Belgium At the shelter since: 12/20/2023 POP GIRL was seized by authorities in very difficult conditions at the residence of a multi-time recidivist countess, where she lived in the wild among a hundred other equids, without appropriate care for their needs. It is highly likely that she was born in this environment, without contact with humans, which makes her relationship with people particularly complex. Very fearful, POP GIRL can be difficult to handle. Relations with the caretakers remain fragile, but we remain confident that with time and patience, she will eventually become accustomed and accept human help. On the other hand, POP GIRL is very sociable with her own species. She gets along well with other equids and finds comfort in their presence. Her sociability towards her peers is a positive point that will facilitate her long-term integration. None of our equids can be ridden or used for commercial purposes. POP GIRL must live with, at least, another fellow animal of the same species. Adoption is possible only with a "permit to detain an animal." For more information, please contact us ONLY by phone at 02 204 49 50.

About POP GIRL

What life with POP GIRL looks like

POP GIRL is a adult dog waiting at Help Animals in Brussels.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇧🇪Adopting from Belgium

Belgian shelters operate under regional law (Flanders, Wallonia, Brussels each have their own rules). All adoptions include the Eurochip, vaccinations, and a stewardship contract. Several Flemish shelters partner with Dutch and German rescue networks.

Frequently asked

Adopting POP GIRL, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about POP GIRL?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Help Animals handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw POP GIRL on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt POP GIRL if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Help Animals will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is POP GIRL already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if POP GIRL isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Help Animals early rather than rehoming privately; they know POP GIRL and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
