Adopt LUNA

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 3 years

Abandoned: 27/03/2026 Race: Cross Fox Terrier Sex: Female Microchip: 900113001287530 Born: 16/06/2022 Country: Belgium At the shelter since: 27/03/2026 LUNA, a little ball of love to guide and reassure Luna is a young cross Fox Terrier full of life, sensitive, and endearing. Behind her overflowing energy hides a very affectionate dog, constantly seeking human attention and eager for connection moments. She loves humans and is very playful, but her emotions sometimes take up too much space, and she will need a family capable of accompanying her with gentleness and patience. Her qualities: Very affectionate and close to humans Playful, lively, and joyful Clean (with a few small accidents when she suffers from loneliness) Comfortable in the car on straight trips Needs a yard to run, vent, and be happy Points to note: Does not tolerate loneliness: Luna gets very stressed and can destroy objects, plastic, cardboard, or shoes when left alone. Not okay with cats Variable compatibility with dogs: lacks canine codes, may react strongly if she feels threatened. Children: no very young children, her complicated past with a man made her fearful in certain situations. Cannot live in an apartment: her energy and space needs do not allow it. Her ideal family: Luna needs a home: with a fenced yard where she can run and vent freely; without cats, and ideally without other dogs or with a very stable dog introduced progressively; without young children; with adopters present, patient, kind, and ready to help her manage her emotions and learn to better cope with absences. She is an adorable dog who will give a lot of love to those who take the time to understand her and offer her a reassuring environment. Do you think you are the family she is waiting for? We would be happy to discuss this with you. Contact us ONLY BY PHONE at 02/523.44.16 for more information or to schedule a meeting. Luna is eagerly waiting for you. This animal is not suitable for homes with young children. Not suitable for homes with cats.

About LUNA

What life with LUNA looks like

LUNA is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Help Animals in Brussels.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇧🇪Adopting from Belgium

Belgian shelters operate under regional law (Flanders, Wallonia, Brussels each have their own rules). All adoptions include the Eurochip, vaccinations, and a stewardship contract. Several Flemish shelters partner with Dutch and German rescue networks.

Frequently asked

Adopting LUNA, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about LUNA?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Help Animals handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw LUNA on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt LUNA if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Help Animals will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is LUNA already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if LUNA isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Help Animals early rather than rehoming privately; they know LUNA and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
