Ben

Mixed Breed · Male · Senior · 11 years

Ben is not the typical dog who falls in love with anyone within five minutes. He observes first. He decides afterwards. Ben chooses his own, but when someone enters his small circle, he creates a very special bond. He appeared abandoned by the river many years ago, sick and with severe damage to his tongue caused by the processionary. He managed to recover, move forward and continue trusting people, although life has not always been kind to him. Today Ben is an old dog. He has joint problems and needs peace, care, and someone who understands that older dogs also deserve a chance. He does not look for great adventures or a perfect life. He looks for peace, routines, and a quiet place where he can finally rest. Maybe he is not the most noticeable. Perhaps you have already seen his face many times. But hopefully this time someone will stop and really look at him and give him the opportunity he has been waiting for so many years. Maybe that someone is you. If you are interested in learning more about Ben, write to (don't forget to include your phone number) or fill out the questionnaire that appears below this profile.

About Ben

What life with Ben looks like

Ben is a senior mixed breed dog waiting at Adoptamics in Spain.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇪🇸Adopting from Spain

Spanish protectoras generally include sterilization, all vaccinations, microchip ID, and EU pet passport in the adoption fee (typically €250–€400 for a dog, €100–€180 for a cat). Many maintain partnerships with rescue transport providers across the EU.

Frequently asked

Adopting Ben, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Ben?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Adoptamics handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Ben on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Ben if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Adoptamics will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Ben already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Ben isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Adoptamics early rather than rehoming privately; they know Ben and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (ES). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
