Puffy

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 7 months

Puffy is looking for her chance at a happy dog life! Sometimes the most faithful souls write the most moving stories. Puffy is just such a dream dog, a beautiful girl of about one year, with the gentle heart of a livestock guardian dog beating inside her. Despite many detours, she has never lost faith in the good in people. Her journey began bumpy: as a little puppy of just 7 months, she was found sick on the street. An angel did not look away, had her medically treated and lovingly nursed back to health. Puffy was chipped, spayed and ready for the big world. But fate did not mean it was easy for her at first: after a long time in a boarding house, the funds were no longer enough, and Puffy ended up back on the street and in the animal shelter for a while. But her guardian angel never gave up on her and brought her back. Currently, Puffy is waiting in a boarding house for the promise that everything will finally be alright. At first, Puffy shows herself in a typical way, still being rather reserved and cautious. She is a sensitive observer who needs a little time to thaw. But if you give her the peace and patience she needs, she shows her true self: a fantastic, loyal dog with a heart of gold, who deeply trusts her humans. The most important thing about Puffy at a glance: Name: Puffy Age: approx. 1 year Size/breed: approx. 65cm (livestock guardian dog mix) Nature: Sensitive, initially reserved, later incredibly loyal, affectionate and grateful Health status: chipped, vaccinated & spayed, rapid test for Mediterranean diseases was negative. Travel ready: from 15.10.2026 Desired home: A loving home with patient heart people with sovereignty and dog sense. A well-fenced garden, where she can relax at her own pace. Puffy has gone through so much and has endured for so long. Now it's time for her own happy ending. She is ready to pack her suitcase and leave her past behind forever. Do you have a suitable home, some patience and a place in your heart? Or can you share Puffy's story so that her people can finally find her? Puffy will be placed with a protection contract and a deposit after a positive preliminary check.

About Puffy

What life with Puffy looks like

Puffy is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Pfotenhilfe Antalya in Ansbach.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Puffy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Puffy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Pfotenhilfe Antalya handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Puffy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Puffy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Pfotenhilfe Antalya will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Puffy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Puffy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Pfotenhilfe Antalya early rather than rehoming privately; they know Puffy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
