A beautiful tomcat with an estimated birth date of 31-03-2023. He was caught together with a number of other cats during a trapping operation because the population became a bit too large. No one has come forward for him yet and we are looking for a golden cage for him. The reason for his name is probably easy to guess, Pumpkin has a magnificent even red coat. He has not been in our shelter for very long and still has to get used to all the new impressions. He has chosen a safe spot in a hideaway where he lies exactly with his nose in the sunlight when it shines through the window. Pumpkin finds people very exciting and will probably need a considerable period of time to get used to and socialize with people. Of course, we are already taking a step in this process, hoping that for Pumpkin things will be a little easier later on. Because Pumpkin is still very afraid of people, we do not place him in a house with dogs and/or children. This would give him too much stress and would not benefit his socialization. At the location where he was caught, there were many cats together. We assume that he could possibly be with another cat. Here in the shelter he is not actively looking for them yet, but this can certainly change when he feels more at ease. Do you have a quiet spot and a lot of patience for this handsome red tomcat? Een prachtige kater met een geschatte geboortedatum van 31-03-2023. Hij is samen me een aantal andere katten weggevangen met een vangactie omdat de populatie een beetje te groot werd. Er heeft zich niemand voor hem gemeld en gaan wij op zoek naar een gouden mandje voor hem. De reden van zijn naam is waarschijnlijk wel te raden, Pumkin heeft een prachtig egaal rode vacht. Hij zit nog niet zo lang in onze opvang en moet nog erg wennen aan alle nieuwe indrukken. Hij heeft in de ruimte waar hij zit een veilig plekje uitgekozen in een schuilhokje waarbij hij precies met zijn snoetje in het zonnetje ligt wanneer deze door het raam naar binnen schijnt. Pumpkin vind mensen nog erg spannend en zal waarschijnlijk nog een flinke periode nodig hebben om te wennen en te socialiseren in het contact met mensen. Natuurlijk maken wij hier al een stapje in dit proces, in de hoop dat het voor Pumpkin straks allemaal net een tikje makkelijker wordt. Omdat Pumpkin nog zo angstig is voor mensen plaatsen we hem niet in een huisje met honden en/of kinderen., dit gaat hem te veel stress geven en dat komt zijn socialisatie niet ten goede. Op de locatie waar hij gevangen is, liepen erg veel katten bij elkaar. We vermoeden dus dat hij wel samen me een andere kat zou kunnen. Hier in de opvang zoekt hij ze zelf nog niet actief op maar dit kan natuurlijk nog veranderen wanneer hij zich wat meer op zijn gemak gaat voelen.
