Punapea is currently undoubtedly the most fascinating character in our cat room. We do think that Punapea is a truly lovely kitten, but Punapea himself believes that he is a lion. If someone comes too close to him, Punapea does not run away - why should a lion run away? No, Punapea only meows to indicate that someone has approached too suddenly. But when we hear the meowing, Punapea thinks that the person who made the noise has the most terrible lion disease. It probably causes some confusion for him why the volunteer still calls him a little kitten after that. He is a lion, after all! However, when the can and the treats are brought out, the kitten's lion clearly comes out. To get food, Punapea is willing to go past the fire and the water and even the volunteers. The treats he is ready to take already from the tip of his paw, and we have gently managed to also stroke his nose. We can confirm that it's very soft! However, in order to find out whether the rest of Punapea's fur is also as soft, he would need a (foster) home where he could learn to trust his person even more. The kitten gets along well with other kittens - it is often seen sleeping next to both young and old, and both female and male kittens. In a new home, there could be a friendly fur ball waiting for him, but he would also happily go to a temporary shelter with a friend from the cat room.

Punapea on praegu küll vaieldamatult kõige huvitavama iseloomuga kiisu meie kassitoas. Meie vaatame küll, et Punapea on tõeliselt armas kassike, aga Punapea ise arvab, et ta on lõvi. Kui keegi talle liiga lähedale tuleb, ega siis Punapea ära ei jookse – kelle eest siis lõvi põgenema peaks! Ei, Punapea ainult susiseb tasakesi, et öelda, et temale on liiga äkitselt lähenetud. Ainult et kui meie kuuleme susinat, siis Punapea arvab, et kuuldavale tuli kõige hirmsam lõvimöire. Eks talle pisut segadust tekitab küll, miks vabatahtlik pärast seda möiret teda ikka nunnuks kassibeebiks kutsub. Lõvi on ju! Kui aga konserv ja maiused välja tuuakse, siis tuleb kassipoisi lõvi hing selgelt esile. Toiduni saamiseks on Punapea nõus mööduma tulest ja veest ja lausa vabatahtlike eest. Maiuseid on ta valmis võtma juba näpu otsast ning õrnalt oleme saanud ka ta nina silitada. Võime kinnitada, et väga pehme on! Selleks aga, et selgitada välja, kas ka ülejäänud Punapea karvastikust sama pehme on, oleks tal vaja (hoiu)kodu, kus ta saaks oma inimest veelgi enam usaldama hakata. Kassipoiss saab hästi läbi teiste kiisudega – tihti on nähtud teda kõrvuti magamas nii noorte kui ka vanade ning nii emaste kui ka isaste kassikestega. Uues kodus võikski oodata teda ees mõni sõbralik karvapall, aga hea meelega läheks ta ajutisse koju ka mõne sõbraga kassitoast.
