Pupetta

Husky · Female · Puppy

Hello everyone! My name is Pupetta. I am a mixed breed, born in May 2026, a future medium-sized contained. My story begins in a way that is anything but simple. I was found wandering in a peripheral and distant area from the city, in Sicily, under a scorching sun and in the middle of the heat. I was malnourished, exhausted and completely devastated by ticks. Nobody seemed to notice me... until, fortunately, a girl who was returning home saw me by chance. She didn't turn the other way. She rescued me and brought me home immediately, where I could finally eat, rest and feel safe. After the veterinary visit and a period of attention, care and a lot of love, that exhausted puppy no longer exists. I was reborn. Today I weigh 6.5 kg, I am in excellent health and I have a lot of desire to live, play and discover the world. I am sweet, affectionate and intelligent and I get along well with other dogs and cats. After everything I've been through, now I just dream of finding a family that loves me forever and makes me forget those days when nobody seemed to see me. I am currently in Sicily, but for a good adoption I can also reach the north center of Italy.

Tranquilla, buona e attiva Persone, bambini, cani, gatti Ciao a tutti!

About Pupetta

What life with Pupetta looks like

Pupetta is a medium-sized puppy/kitten husky dog waiting at I Pelosetti di Silvana in Italy.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇮🇹Adopting from Italy

Italian canili require adopters to sign a stewardship contract (affido) and may retain the right to verify the animal's wellbeing post-adoption. Animals are chipped and sterilized before leaving (Legge 281/91). Public canili rifugio typically waive adoption fees.

Frequently asked

Adopting Pupetta, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Pupetta?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. I Pelosetti di Silvana handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Pupetta on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Pupetta if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — I Pelosetti di Silvana will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Pupetta already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Pupetta isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with I Pelosetti di Silvana early rather than rehoming privately; they know Pupetta and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (IT). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
